<image:caption>Visiting the 7th continent is a classic bucket list destination. I have finally decided to gift myself this once in a lifetime experience. <image:caption>In my photography I am fascinated by rituals and traditions. There is something about the passion, intent and focus that captivates me. While not religious myself, I am drawn and touched by this kind of devotion and single mindedness. There is no better place to experience this kind of passion than the south of Spain during the holy week leading up to Easter. These photos were made in Malaga and Granada</image:caption>

<image:title>Street Photography - Uttar Pradesh, India</image:title>
<image:caption>For a street photographer like myself, India is a paradise. The colors are saturated and brilliant, and make my heart beat faster. The house fronts are often painted blue, pink or red, the women wear the most beautiful and colorful saris. it is a feast for the eyes. In addition, during festivals, the women dress up even more, deck themselves with bangles and other adornments. They simply look beautiful. And the best bonus is that they are not camera shy and don’t seem to mind being photographed. What more can one ask for?</image:caption>

<image:caption>Finally on the road again and even more important finally intensively photographing. It has been a long 14 months. <image:title>Street Photography - Uzbekistan</image:title>
<image:caption>While the classical Silk Road cities of Uzbekistan are relatively well known and visited, the Fergana Valley in the East sees very few tourists. The people are incredibly friendly and very curious. Conversations flow despite no common language and often I was gifted with something, a cucumber, a cabbage, a warm meal to go, or a tea. All with accompanied by a genuine feel good smile.</image:caption>

<image:title>Street Photography - TAJIKISTAN</image:title>
<image:caption>In the span of 1.5 years I have visited Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. While they share similarities they are also distinctively different. Tajikistan is not very touristic, especially not in the Fergana Valley were we spent most of our time. The Tajik people welcomed us with an incredible warmth and hospitality. We were constantly gifted in the market, vegetables, fruits or freshly baked bread. People would stop their cars, roll down the window, and shout out “welcome to Tajikistan”, and we were often invited to have tea in people’s houses. A rare and heart warming hospitality.</image:caption>

<image:title>Street Photography - KOLKATA & MORE</image:title>
<image:caption>As can easily be seen from my gallery I often visit India. It is a street photographer’s paradise. I am drawn to the vibrant colors, the elegance of the women and the spirit of devotion. In every corner there’s a photo waiting to be captured. This time I visited Kolkata during the important festival of Durga Puja. Following that I was in Kurukshetra, Dehradun, Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Haridwar. All fascinating and unique places.</image:caption>

<image:title>Street Photography - CHINA</image:title>
<image:caption>In the big cities I visited one can hardly find a trace of the “old China”. The skylines are spectacular, international luxury brands can be found everywhere and with the right apps services function smoothly. What is still traditional are the morning activities in the parks of the older generation. The young generation likes to dress up reminiscent of Japanese Cosplay culture. Or else they dress up in fancy traditional Chinese attire. Either way it is thoroughly documented, either by professional photographers or by the boyfriend in toe.</image:caption>

<image:title>Street Photography - CUBA</image:title>
<image:caption>My first time in Cuba was 9 years ago. While life there at the time was not easy I was really saddened to see how much worse things have become. Electricity is sporadic, garbage piling in the streets, lines in front of bakeries, and empty shelves in the pharmacies. What is amazing to observe is how resilient and creative the Cuban people are. For example, anything and everything can be repaired and during electricity down time charging stations appear on the sidewalks. The country is somehow broken but the spirit is not.</image:caption>

<image:title>Street Photography - Spiritual Nepal</image:title>
<image:caption>Spirituality is baked into the daily routine of the Nepalese. On the way to and from work, alone or with the family they always take a moment to respect their gods. Next to everyday activities there is always room for a moment of silent prayer.</image:caption>

<image:title>Street Photography - Senegal</image:title>
<image:caption>Senegal provided a unique experience. Unlike the people in Asia the Senegalese did not always appreciate being photographed. Taking street photos required me to adapt a new strategy. Long conversations trying to persuade people that my intentions were pure were needed before raising the camera to my eye, sometime successful often no so much. Nevertheless I had many good encounters and the colors and beauty of the people is still coming through nicely.</image:caption>
